The following classes are now offered:
Air-Cooled Training (3-Day)
Air-cooled class (3-day) is the prerequisite for the Protector Series course. This class allows a technician who is assigned to an appropriate service dealer to perform warranty repairs on all Air-Cooled products (OPE and HSB). Approximately 6 Hrs. Classroom, 18 Hrs. Lab and 6 Hrs. Nightly Assignments.
Required on-line classes – (Learning Center) Basic Electricity, Basic Generator Theory, Air Cooled Engines and Schematic 1. These on-line courses need to be completed only once.

Protector Series (4-Day)
The 4-Day Air-Cooled Course is the prerequisite for the Protector Series course. This class is a 4-day course on non-configured, Evolution/Nexus controlled, liquid-cooled Res/Com product. This class allows a technician who is assigned to an appropriate service dealer to perform warranty repairs on the Protector Series Gaseous and Diesel product.
Required on-line classes – (Learning Center) Basic Electricity, Basic Generator Theory, Air Cooled Engines, Schematic 1, Introduction to Protector Series Diesel Generators and Installing Liquid-cooled Residential/Commercial Generators. These on-line courses need to be completed only once.

Industrial Controls
Any Commercial Level course is the prerequisite for the Industrial Controls Course. Industrial Controls is the prerequisite for Industrial Training w/ Engine Training or the Industrial Training 1 week course. This 3-day course allows a technician who is assigned to an appropriate service dealer to attend the two (2) listed Industrial courses. No MPS or Bi-fuel.
This course DOES NOT extend your current qualification date.
Required on-line classes – (Learning Center) Basic Electricity, Basic Generator Theory, Air Cooled Engines, Schematic 1, Introduction to Protector Series Diesel Generators and Installing Liquid-cooled Residential/Commercial Generators. These on-line courses need to be completed only once.
Required Industrial Prerequisite Assignments are found on GENservice. Go to Gen Service and navigate to News and then Service News.

Industrial
Industrial Update class is offered to all Industrial trained technicians who have completed any Industrial course. The purpose of this 4.5-day class is to update the Industrial technician on troubleshooting procedures and new products. It is recommended that you be very familiar and experienced with current product, control panels and Genlink DCP to take this update.
Non-industrial dealers cannot advance beyond any Commercial/Protector Series Training level course
Required on-line classes – (Learning Center) Basic Electricity, Basic Generator Theory, Air Cooled Engines, Schematic 1, Introduction to Protector Series Diesel Generators and Installing Liquid-cooled Residential/Commercial Generators. These on-line courses need to be completed only once.
Required Industrial Prerequisite Assignments found on GENservice. Refer to the Service Training Policy and Requirement Manual 0L4102 for further information.
Laptop Requirements:
A PC with internet capabilities running MS Windows operating systems (Windows XP, Windows 7, 8 or 10), along with the latest version of Adobe Reader. If you are considering upgrading your operating system, make sure your hardware supports it (processor speed, memory, etc). You will need Microsoft .NET framework version 4.0 loaded also. A USB to 232 Serial Adapter that works with your PC. The Generac Serial connector cable P/N 0F7707. The most recent version of Genlink-DCP (4.0.1 or higher) loaded on your PC. This software can be downloaded from the Generac Service website. Generac does not support MAC or LINUX operating systems.
